About Me

Amy Malkoski is an artist and illustrator who lives in Bend, Oregon. She grew up in a quaint coastal town near Cape Cod, Massachusetts and finds her happy place near the forests and the sea. She creates art that is part nature and part whimsy, combining photorealism and youthful illustrations. She has a background in photography and videography having spent 10 years working as an underwater videographer and nature guide on expedition cruise ships around the world.

It’s this exploration and education of the planet paired with her dreamy coastal upbringing that guides her art. She uses many mediums including pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, gouache, digital illustration, vector design, photography and videography. Her mediums are as varied as her subjects, though mostly rooted in the natural world.

Amy has a Bachelors of Visual Arts degree from Roger Williams University, where she studied at the Palazzo Rucellai International Studies Institute in Florence, Italy. She is currently completing certificates in both Illustration and Graphic Design at Central Oregon Community College as she transitions into a career as a full-time artist.
